30th January 2019 saw the win for the Mega Moolah Jackpot which was CA$20 million. The exact amount was CA$ 20, 058, 287.27. We would not say that this jackpot will break the record since it was not in Euros or British pound, but this was a great amount.
The player was playing at Zodiac Casino, but he is still unknown. He was the first jackpot winner of 2019 and the first one to land a jackpot since the previous win in September 2018.
This is the sixth time out of the last seven triggers that the jackpot has been won. From February 2018 to date, the jackpot has been triggered seven times and won six times. Here are the dates that the jackpots have been won.

Will this win set the world record?
In terms of the monetary value of the amount won in this jackpot, Mega Moolah triggered on 30th January 2019 will not be a record-setter as it was not triggered in UK pounds or Euro. This clearly means that the €18.9 million win that was triggered in September 2018 is still the record holder.
When we look at other aspects, this jackpot has set a couple of records still. This is the first time the jackpot went over 20 million in any currency. This will also be the biggest win in any currency and country the jackpot was claimed. How did the jackpot get this high after the win in September 2018?
How did the amount get so high?
In September 28th, 2018, one of the lucky punters landed over €18.9 million the winning was made in euros and not in British pounds which is the base currency for the jackpot. This being the case, the jackpot fund was not completely emptied; after the cash out the jackpot was reset to 2,269,485.
In most cases, you will notice that after a big jackpot win players will keep off the game for some time. But after they start engaging and the jackpot will start climbing. Before the €18.9 million win, the jackpot was rising by 150,000 to 200,000 per day, but after the win, the jackpot prize started climbing by 100,000 each day. With this trend, the jackpot was at over 6 million by the end of October.
When a jackpot is high, it tends to attract more punters, and this is the reason the jackpot grew by 120,000 to 150,000 in November. In December the jackpot went through the 10 million marks and then rose on to under 15 million by the end of the month. This went on for a while until the jackpot reached 15.8 million on 10th January; by the end of the following day the jackpot was at 16 million, and from 11th January to the time the jackpot was won the jackpot amount was rising on an average of 200,000 a day. After it crashed the 20 million mark, the jackpot was won a few hours later.
Where is the jackpot winner from?
Information on who the winner or where he is from is still not available. But one thing we can confirm is that the jackpot was reset to £8.6 million and this is usually the base value of the Mega Moolah jackpot. The amount won by the play in their currency was about $11.4 million.
What is the jackpot reset to?
The standard procedure requires that if the jackpot is not won in the base currency of British pounds, the jackpot figure is converted into British Pounds and deducted from the jackpot to pay for the win. After this, the jackpot is reset to £8.6 million. This means that even after the jackpot is won, you still have the chance to win a handsome amount of money.
